Field education
Nila being given a taste of life on a farm. You can just about make out Nila and her mother under the tree. There is a huge well with nice cool water in there.
These fields have been harvested for paddy recently. We saw harvested grains bagged and bags put on a bullock cart to take them out of the fields on to a truck waiting on the road. It is backbreaking work for people as well as the animals.
The ground is so rough and uneven here. Simple walking was tough. I tripped many times and fell once. I suppose the level of physical fitness needed to work here is of a different order compared to that needed for life in a city!

Beautiful, oddly enough it reminds me also of the farms in the state of Kansas and the rest of the Great Plains area...

Thanks JudyChen and Sydney for your kind words.
Yes, the warmer look is intentional and did move the WB to the right. But the actual scene was watm too though it was so intense.

Thanks Eric. Our comments seem to have crossed each other!
It is wonderful to discover similarities across the world. The fields in India might be a bit more fragmented and large scale automation is very rare. But yes, the mood evoked because of the colours, wide vistas, and the fresh air would be very similar.

One of the things I admire most about flickr are the glimpses from very different parts of the world that I get. This is a excellent example of that, and for me your telling about it means a lot. Thank you!

Beautiful colors! I'll bet those trees provide a welcome break during the harvest. Enjoyed your description ~ hope you didn't get hurt when you fell.

Thanks folks.
Totte. - Absolutely. As you said being able to enjoy is good. And being able to exchange views and comments is as important.
hiker - You are right. Farmers toiling hard in the field enjoy the rest more than anyone else. What a blissful sleep one will get under those trees after some hard labour. I was not hurt much except for a little bruised ego!

Wonderful photo Pandiyan, so golden and yet such a place of toil... the trees give a sense of relief.

Very nice! The play between the yellow field and the blue sky is very interesting, with the tree forming a kind of a bridge!

Totte. said it very well. It's great to see such beautiful photos from around the world, and it's even better to get a glimpse of life and learn something about places that I have yet to visit.
Thanks for posting.

Fields of gold ! :-)
It's amazing and wonderful to compare seasons in different places on the Earth, (or just a one day, like for example 31 December :-)
We have harvest more or less on July / August, and now is still winter, and fields just sleep under the snow :-)
Great photo, Pandiyan, a tree looks so lovely against this sunny field :-)

Thanks Viche and Packer Fan.
Our place, Ewa, has no winter to speak of. Here we have three seasons. Hot, hotter and hottest! The crop cycles vary a lot.

I love the intense colour treatment and the beautiful simplicity of this shot. Just the injection of warmth I need on this grey, wet, cold English day.
ps - sorry for the long time since my last visit. Too much work and a dead computer conspired against me.
Pandiyan (76 months ago | reply)
Thanks small fry. Wonderful to read your words. I had a quick glance at your stream and you have come back with some cracking shots.
And I am sure spring is not too far off.
