For those not used to looking for artifacts, the third photo circles some of the artifacts imposed by Photoshop CS4 that were not due to the subject moving or any other factor except this program's inadequate processing ability. There are more subtle ones that I did not mark, as it would make it more difficult for you to see the main ones.

Meanwhile the ZS versions is remarkably free of the artifacts that you see in the Photoshop CS4 version. This is why I am so enthused about Zerene Stacker.

Here is the proof of the pudding, as they say. This first image is a close-up of the stacked photo using Zerene Stacker. Notice how clear of artifacts it is. Plus, this is the PMax version that is noisier than the DMap algorithm. Looks pretty good to me.

The second image is the same thing using Photoshop's CS4 Align and Blend stacking method. Notice the many artifacts in crucial places in the image. It took some 15 minutes, and the artifacts make it really not usable on close inspection.
