Doryanthes Palmeri Flower, side view

    This was an amazing flower, and it was huge. It's from New Zealand and its common name is the Spear Lily - you can see why. It's Aussie cousin is called the Doryanthes Excelsa (Lymea Lily) and it grows straight up, very tall with a red flame flower at the top.

      Just a small correction- it is from Australia-Northern NSW and SE Queensland.
