Blue hour at Lake Kleifarvatn

From the same successful trip to Lake Kleifarvatn as the previous image.

Taken a little earlier when the blue hour was at its peak. The moon added more color and gave the still cold evening a little extra brightness.

This was a very pleasant photoshoot. Staying out there alone in the soundless peaceful night looking at the mirror smooth lake while my camera was exposing, was very relaxing. I really enjoyed it because it is not that often that nights are as quiet as this one.

I should have been more focused though, I heard a sound like I dropped something. I looked around and searched my pockets for anything missing. It wasn´t until I was home that I realized I dropped one of my extra batteries, and those 5D MKII batteries are really expensive. I went again tonight looking for it, but the wind had picked up and blown snow covering every trace where I had shot. I will have to wait for the snow to clear to go back looking.

Great shot, sorry to hear about the batteries. You should get a roofers magnet; they use them to pick up nails in the yard that they drop. Those magnets are nice to have around the house. I use mine about once or twice a year to clean up the fire pit.

Definitely a different one!! That moonlight and the extra-long exposure gave this a quite particularly mood; Excellent picture and a wised work that didn't deserve that battery thing... :)) Hope you find it anyway! Cheers

      Thanx. :)
I got a tip on this site, www.dealextreme.com/ Seems to be good on stuff one tends to loose. (batteries, lens caps etc) I have my first order on the way, so can't bow for the quality of stuff, but the one I got the link from seemed pleased with it.

Sorry to read about your battery loss. I once lost my wallet in the same exact fashion, albeit in a snow-covered construction site. Waited six days before I found it untouched, frozen in place.
