Low Level King Air B200

Low Level King Air B200

Trip to the Mach Loop yesterday came up with a first for me, a Beechcraft King Air B200 through Cad West early in the morning. We were expecting fast jets but this is a nice aircraft to see anyway and isn't common so stopped the shutter speed down to 1/180th of a second to get some propeller blur and tried to pan as smooth as possible.

G-WASN On Duty

G-WASN On Duty

This is G-WASN of the Welsh Air Ambulance fleet taking off earlier today from the football fields in Aberystwyth. Harsh winter light (and cold!) made this a bit difficult as there's only one safe spot to stand where the sun is right in front of you and so is the ugly road and buildings for a background. Still, I've only shot this aircraft once before and this was better than my last attempt so pleased with this.

The crew loaded a patient from Bronglais hospital onto the airframe on a spinal board very carefully and left shortly after. They weren't in any hurry so not an emergency of sorts. Possibly a smoother transfer than road to another hospital? Who knows? But hope they're OK and back on their feet soon.

Red Lips & Hair

Red Lips & Hair

Returned to and old photo today to edit after buying Portrait Professional because it was on offer at £30. Only downside is that because I bought the "Standard" license and not the "Studio" license I don't get an Aperture plugin, which means I need to export to JPEG from Aperture, run the program and then add my watermark in GIMP. Bit of a pain, but worth it for the benefit I think. I don't usually shoot portraits but knowing how useful it can be (with moderation) I bought it and tested it out on this photo. I'd post a before/after shot but I don't think Rhi wouldn't like me for it :)

Full Pelt

Full Pelt

One from RIAT last year, I had this as my wallpaper for a while. You just don't forget the incredible sound of a Tornado GR4 with afterburners on at eye-level! It's exam season again, so don't expect much activity from me (as usual!) :)

A View Over Llyn Gwynant

A View Over Llyn Gwynant

I know, I know... it's been far too long. September, in fact was my last upload. But I have my excuses! The final year of university has been really hard so far, but I'm enjoying it and keeping at it. It's left me with little time to do much else but in the middle of October I got out to North Wales hoping for a few photos and got this sunset at Llyn Gwynant. For those that don't follow me on other social sites, I'm also now engaged to Rhi as of November 2nd following five years of us being together :)
