My love for Chuck

My love for Chuck

OK I'll admit it. I am in love with Chuck..or should I say Chucks. Also known as Converse All Stars or Chuck Taylor All stars. I have excluded my hi tops, leathers, boots and sandals, just for the sake of seeming obsessive. Just felt the need to do something different and play with some color.

Snowy Sunday

Snowy Sunday

We've finally gotten hit with some measurable snow. Big white fluffy stuff. So pretty and it has sure made the yard a busy place. The Jays always come up close to be photographed...This is the classic "is this my best side"? I like how he's watching the snow come down.

The call

The call

One of the best things I started doing when I was blessed with Bluebirds, was to have a special call for them. I have a certain whistle I do when I feed them and they all have learned it. So even now, when I go outside and I hear one, I whistle and 90% of the time, they whistle back. Sometimes we whistle back and forth so long that I can't even whistle anymore. And when I am feeding them mealworms and I whistle, they are there within seconds. So if you could whistle and have a sweetie like this staring at you...wouldn't you? Just thought I would share that tip for any new Bluebird caregivers.

Imagination

Imagination

"The color of springtime is in the flowers, the color of winter is in the imagination." ~Terri Guillemets

Trying my best to use my imagination on another grey day. Grateful for archives full of birds and flowers.

Sleepy boy

Sleepy boy

Another shot of the Snowy Owl that appeared on the roof of the grocery store a few days before Christmas. All the local news stations featured him. I sent a shot to one of the stations, which shared the shot along with the video they took. I had heard that a week later, they showed it again. He appeared around noon that day, and I heard he was there until at least 8:30 that night. I think he had a long flight and found a comfy place to rest. I'm still hoping to see him again.

I was thrilled to see a Snowy and more than happy to get some shots, but can't help thinking that a more wild setting would have been nice...however...how much more wild does the grocery store 2 days before Christmas get?
