This view of Lake Superior from Little Girl's Point in the far western end of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan was taken in early January. The lake is usually frozen over this time of year instead of just having ice on the shore. The temperature at the time was in the 40's and it hit 52º F a couple days later!

UPDATE: Winter has since arrived with well over 2 feet of snow falling since this pic was taken and temps below 0F today!
