Barn With Rusty Silo

Barn With Rusty Silo

Since I've begun using textures, I thought I'd dig into the archives to find images I've never posted and redo them. I took this shot about two years ago along Highway Q in the Marathon County countryside east of Wausau, Wisconsin. I don't recall exactly where it is, but I do remember the the landowner stopping his truck to confront me even though I was standing alongside a public road at the time. When I explained that I was only taking pictures he gave his permission...reluctantly.

Thanks to Lenabem-Anna for the texture.

Parade Of Motorcycles

Parade Of Motorcycles

The annual Wausau Firefighters Muscular Dystrophy Association ride and benefit was held in the Wausau, Wisconsin area this past weekend. Now in its eighth year, the event draws motorcycle enthusiasts from around the Midwest -- and the country -- to ride for a good cause. The fundraiser takes place each year at Harley-Davidson of Wausau, located in Rothschild, with events that include a live music and a self-guided tour throughout central Wisconsin. All proceeds benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association. To date, the ride has raised about $250,000 for muscular dystrophy research, treatment and support. This shot was taken during the Friday night motorcycle parade as nearly 2000 bikes roared through downtown Wausau.

Kodak Brownie Bull's-Eye

Kodak Brownie Bull's-Eye

My wife found this gem at a rummage sale for 50 cents. It's still in working condition, and altho it's designed to work with 620 film, I can buy 120 film (which is the same size) and trim down the spools to make it work in this camera. Plus, my local Sam's Club still does film developing!

From Camerapedia: "The Brownie Bull's-Eye was a bakelite box camera made by Kodak between 1954 & 1960, designed by Arthur H Crapsey (who also designed the highly successful Kodak Brownie Star series). The body features a Twindar lens, an eye-level viewfinder and a large shutter-release button on the front vertical edge, in front of the winding knob. It was available in black from 1954-1958, or a beige color (called "gold") from 1958-1960."

Generation Gap

Generation Gap

This past Friday evening the Exhibitour was held in downtown Wausau, Wisconsin where participants could view a variety of art while strolling between designated stores and shops where artists showcased their work. Many host galleries offered wine and hors d'oeuvres to spectators as they mingled and visited with the artists and friends. I thought I'd try my hand at some street photography while I was there.
