One of the real treats for me when visiting Yellowstone was to see the Buffalo, and they are everywhere. The first morning we were there we were surprised to have one walking along the road side, almost in traffic. Scott and I looked at each other and said OMG!!

This is the Calcite Springs Overlook in Yellowstone NP, about one mile north of Tower Falls, it gives a bird's-eye view of the Narrows, the narrowest section of the Grand Canyon on the Yellowstone River

It's a stunning view overlooking the Yellowstone river, and yes the water really was that color. You can't get a sense of the scale here. But I've uploaded a cropped image that shows two people at the base of the tower near the hot springs.

And of course Larger is always better.

This was an interesting side road called Firehole Canyon Drive in Yellowstone. The clouds and mist from the heated water made for a beautiful morning.

I took this on my way out of the Tetons.. I didn't want to leave, but I had to.
