I came across this image when searching for images of Ireland.

About this time last year in Ireland my wife and son went shopping and saw a poor dog in terrible condition on the path.

They felt so sorry that he came home with the shopping and we rescued him. He is identical to this dog and now is in great nick.

We are convinced he is a boykin spaniel although some say they see an Irish setter in him.

We named him George:) Beautiful dog and great with the kids.

Just wondering is this a boykin spaniel?

Andy - Tinbie is a flat-coated retriever, but he was a puppy way back when this photo was taken (he is 5.5 yrs old now!). A Boykin spaniel would be much smaller when full grown compared to a flat-coated retriever. Sounds like George is one very lucky dog!

Thanks so much for taking the time....maybe Tinbie as a pup was the same size as George full grown....

It reminds I should pop up a recent pic of him as his coat glows now...

This was a few hours after we rescued him...

Finding Tinbie prompted me to pop a before and after shot of George!
