Hi Sorry to bring such startling news but our close friend and staple of the LEGO community is missing. Her name is Heather Braaten and went by HeatherLEGOgirl here online. A couple months ago she removed her flickr, facebook, and MOCPages profiles but now her mother had called me this morning stating that she was missing and has been since last Tuesday. Police are on the search but her family would like to know her whereabouts any way possible. Here is a photo of her.
If anyone knows her whereabouts or knows when you contacted her last, please chime in here. And if Heather you are out there, please let us know. You have a lot of people worried about you, honey.
Any knowledge of her well being would be appreciated. Thanks in advance
Lino

All the best for Heather, I met her at Brickcon and this is frightening.

I hope it's ok to repost this from another thread here that I posted it on. The more people that see it, the better:
There is an article now in her local paper, and a missing poster on brickset:
www.ballardnewstribune.com/2012/03/27/news/missing-person...
www.brickset.com/news/article/?ID=2854
It seems she may have medical issues, since it mentions medication and possibly disoriented That makes finding her even more urgent.

This is devastating news. I met Heather a few years ago when she gave my son a ride to a SeaLUG meeting. At the time, she lived in our community of Port Orchard, WA. We also saw her at BrickCon. She was lovely to be around--very friendly and kind, witty and creative. I loved seeing her posts on Flickr. Prayers for her safety and well-being.

.... I never really got to know her but man this is really hard to swallow...
In Jesus name she will turn up soon with a funny story or atleast annoying story that we all just say to "Heather! why would you do that?!" Followed or preceeded with her mom/fam crushing her with hugs.....
Please make sure to post she is found picture....immediately

Thank you for the love, prayers and support you shared and thank you for your efforts made in Heather’s search, whether it be blogging about it, handing out flyers or searching in your own neighborhoods. Unfortunately her body was found yesterday, April 1st 2012. She valued her friendships and especially the LEGO community. Her family said it was ok for me to post this image and this write up. These are all the details I know for now and I will keep you all posted as I know more.
