Batmobile: 2025!

Newer Older

This month’s challenge over at LUGNuts is called Batmobile:2025 where its 13 years in the future, young Raphy Granas has grown up to become a movie director, and he wants us to completely redesign the Batmobile from the ground up for a new Batman trilogy. Totally balls out awesome, right?

My entry starts out with a 40’s era Cab Over Engine (COE) truck, which then gets, chopped and highly customized and turned into a mobile command unit...thus taking the Batcave anywhere Batman wants to go. Its no frills design, retractible mirrors, and reinforced armored hull makes it so the entire vehicle can be used as a battering ram. Robin’s motorcycle, a stripped down drag bobber, rolls off the back ramp to chase down villains in hot pursuit. The cabin and rear quarters sports high tech gadgetry and swivel seats while the pistons in the massive upright engine can been seen working through the ribcage like grille. Both vehicles follow nostalgic, Art Deco design cues while the mostly red color scheme honors the very first vehicle dubbed the Batmobile in 1941.

Completely redesigning the Batmobile from scratch gives us the chance to roll out some completely never-before-seen designs and I surely took advantage of that. Hope you all like it!

That front grill with the vertical engine is inspired!! You're on www.thelegocarblog.wordpress.com. They're not so keen on Robin's return, but he looks awesome on that bike

Sure it is. See Batman: The Animated Series. Actually I thought this was inspired by something from that show when I saw the thumb. Looks fantastic!

Holy cats this is fantastic. The grill design is through the roof even before you see the dang sideways Technic engine. My hat is off to you.
