I loved this board because I got to start it with the word gnosis.
So! Everyone who sees this (and who enjoys games) . . .
1. Play a game of Scrabble--against yourself if you have to.
2. Take a shot of the final board.
3. Tell us something it shows about you (and, if you like, and you
played against someone else, tell us something it showed about your
opponent.)
4. Invite others to join in. :)

Neat game:) Scrabble is one of my favorite games. My husband and I are going to do this, but it will probably be this weekend before we get a chance. It has been quite some time since we have played a game of Scrabble.

I love words and reading and such...but I've never liked scrabble...probably because the boards I've played NEVER look like this...we end up in one tiny area of the board...maybe we just don't know how to play! GREAT SHOT...

Great idea for a shot and speculation..... My son and daughter-in-law play almost every night..... I love it when we get together and have a game going as we visit.

Everyone, looking forward to seeing some Scrabble boards soon. It seems to me the MOST interesting part will be your comments on your boards, not so much the boards themselves. :)

My wife and I play Scrabble over the summer...combined points and Win/Losses are our 2 criteria and we usually are very close in both.
We love words and the strategy is always fun.
We have learned that we are competitive and fair and not bloodthirsty players. We allow 1 free lookup a turn before any challenge and there is almost never the necessity for a challenge...

tomswift46, I like you all's idea for 1 free lookup. Do you all ever wish you could include non-English words? (I enjoyed your bilingual poem Madrugada.)
I just looked up Spanish Scrabble on amazon and here was an idea one person posted that I think is great:
"If the [person] plays an English word they receive the normal amount of points. If the [person] plays a Spanish word he/she receives double the point value in addition to any extra points offered by the squares on the board."

Here's another Scrabble idea from Lara's Stuff:
Add up the number of points in your name.
For example, I'm Jan.
J is 8, A is 1, and N is 1. So that makes me a perfect 10, I guess! :)

I used to enjoy Scrabble very much, but for some years now I have had few opportunities to play it. In her peer group, my mother is an ace at the game, unless her opponent is my aunt Ginny, who flagrantly cheats in the scoring. Unfortunately, my mother refuses to play against me because she says she might lose. I'm a bit rusty, but if I can find the time and an opponent, there could be a photo in it. This is a great "I've been tagged" topic!
P.S. Thanks for the link to the Oscar Wilde chocolate photo. LOL! Having played both Algernon and Reverend Chasuble in productions of THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST, I can't decide which character would enjoy the chocolate more.

How fun, I usually play with my ten year old and she wins-puts me to shame.

I like scrabble too, I made a new word up the other day, not while playing scrabble but of the moment - is there such a word as LOSTNESS - and yes I do have a dictionary, just wondered if it was an obscure word in the scrabble book.
