    City Screen Cinema in York, since the closure of the Odeon in 2006, this art-house repertory cinema is the only one in the centre of the city.

      I was preparing to brush this off as another non descript multiplex until I caught notice that, according to the marquee, one of the auditoriums is presenting a film in 70mm. I doubt that fewer than five 70mm projectors have been used in the United States during the past decade.

      Hi Jack, the chief technician/projection is a charming chap called Darren Briggs who regularly tries to screen 70mm prints.The 70mm theatre is also THX certified. Nice indeed.
