98 Leeds Town & Country 14

Opened as the Coliseum Concert Hall in 1885 and converted to a theatre around ten years later. In 1938 it was gutted and rebuilt to the designs of W E Trent to reopen as the Gaumont Cinema which closed in 1961 to become a bingo hall. After that it became rehearsal rooms and later still the cinema interior was stripped out and the space used as a recording studio for film and TV production. Reopened as the Colosseum for concerts in 1992 and is now the Town and Country Club. Despite the ecclesiastical facade it has never been a church.
