It's 2012!

Even though I'm not much of a Flickr poster these days, I still come around to see how my friends are faring. One can never leave Fickr for too long, can they?

Me? I'm still working my way up to becoming a jewelry czar, one little pair of earrings at a time. Go check out my Etsy shop. While its cupboards feel a bit bare, that's thanks to a rather wonderful holiday season. Cheers to all of you great Etsians who were kind enough to gift my pieces to your loved ones. This is my full time gig now, so each and every sale has a direct impact on me. And to the soft and fluffily cute Emme Lou. :)

Just wondering if people think photos like this are helpful when it comes to size reference for online sales. While I always give all measurements down to the 1/8" or mm, I regularly get people asking if they can see them on a person, hoping to make those seemingly arbitrary numbers make sense.

So, folks, for my Etsy site, would a photo like this (I don't plan on taking too many photos of me wearing the earrings) be helpful for you?

Miles is in cat heaven, the good kind, not the dead kitty kind. He's staring down our other cat so she doesn't come over and yoink his toy.
A favorite toy of our 2 cats as it's been laced with the good stuff. Miles may even like this feathered red ball better than rustling around in paper or sleeping atop a plastic bag, which to him, is akin to 800 thread count sheets.

Straight up, smack-you-in-the-face beautiful day here in Seattle today.

I work from home, so it's a constant struggle to stay in and actually get work done when the blue sky allows the Olympic Mountains and Lake Union to be seen from our front windows. Yeeaaahh, I'll cop to going outside and doing a smidge of planting an hour ago, but I'm back inside and on task.

Today I'm finishing my application to the Redmond Town Center Arts Festival. After I recently found out I wasn't accepted to be a vendor at the summer Urban Craft Uprising show (a show I previously *rocked* last December), my pride's been a bit down in the dumps, but, eh, fudge 'em. While they have a strong line up of skilled, creative artists, this time they also let in some downright terrible, trendtastic, boring artists. Yep. I just went there...something I probably shouldn't do if I ever want to be selected to participate in another UCU show. I'm sure there are a number of mysterious factors (popularity, variety, trendiness, politics, etc) that determine who gets in and who doesn't, so I decided to not let it bum me out, to not let it affect my confidence.

But, really, right now, all I want to do is go on a leisurely stroll in the sun.

ALSO I let my Flickr Pro account run out yesterday, so tons of my pictures just disappeared from my stream. Strange feeling. Can't decided if I should go back to being pro or just keep it free.
