Hi, I'm an admin for a group called Florida Outdoors (Post One, Comment One), and we'd love to have your photo added to the group.

Frank, DAMN! This is an absolutely amazing shot! This would for sure be a 'life' shot for me. Of course I'd probably see one and be in such shock I'd forget how my camera worked, lol.

      Again, wow! Super shot!

Frank, no way. What a wonderful and rare siting yet alone being able to capture a great photo of it.

O.K. maybe I shouldn't wander to far off trail. A shot of a lifetime Frank, congrats.

Excellent capture, I grew up in South Fla. and have been lucky enough to see a few of these, but never with a camera at hand. Back in the mid80s, i saw a black one here in Central Fla. close to the Orange-Lake County line. I have been told numerous times that I was mistaken, that there are no black ones here, but I know what I saw.

I have been - faithfully - going to ENP and Big Cypress trying to get a good shot of one. Have I seen them? Yes, twice - perhaps thrice, but there is a debate going as to what we saw one evening. Have I been able to get a shot? Heck no! CONGRATULATIONS! You have just proven to me that all I have to do is keep looking for the right time, the right place, the right light...... : )

Such a beautiful, healthy looking cat! You really did a nice job to capture this image in the wild.

    19. p simmons (49 months ago | reply)

Judd makes a great point a lot of times they seem scrawny and undernourished in pics but I think all the hogs and deer in Dinner Island are keeping this one healthy.

Seeing one in the wild would be a once in a lifetime experience capturing the moment as well as you did is beyond description.

Well...I'm back...A week ago Saturday, Loop Road, in the stretch between the bathrooms South of Monroe Station entrance and the Collier County sign, I came across one TWICE on the same day! Again, only one lousy shot. I will not give up...
