Border Patrol
Another held back from last year, this individual was found several 100 metres away from the usual site and - along with several others - was welcome proof that the species had successfully dispersed throughtout the wood.

Blue Chaffinch
I've seen some strange abberations in all kinds of animals, but this Chaffinch threw me.Never have I seen a blue beak before.

Harbinger
I've promised myself to make more of an effort with the butterflies this year. The good thing is they start to appear before the dragonflies, and their relative seasons can overlap to provide plenty of opportunities providing the weather holds out. Another month and we should see the first of the delightful, if skittish, Orange-tips.
