Sister blacktail on alert

Here a young blacktail doe, is on full alert, while her brother, chows down on vine maple leaves, refusing to look up or to budge.

    Wildlife, Waterfalls, Wildflowers.

I spent the day among clouds, mist, and mountain scenery in Mt. Rainier National Park, with a flickr friend photographer, who taught me a lot about photography with a Canon G9(and I'm not an easy student).

Mt. Rainier never did show its ice and snow clad being, but as always, in any season in any weather, the park impresses with all its scenic wonders.

    22 June 2009.

Lisbeth - - fortunately this young doe's attention is focused on something other than me (ears at full alert). She was far more wary and careful than her brother, who wanted nothing more than to eat as many vine maple leaves as he could. OMT

Thanks Irina - - I was very lucky on this photo. The two yound blacktail deer were both paying most of their attention to what I was doing. A noise in the forest caught the young doe's attention so she turned and faced the noise, with her large ears pointed in that direction. So I got a photo as if being part of the group instead of what the group was looking back at. Thanks for you comment. OMT

Thanks Kurt and keep up the great job of getting the family outdoors amid nature, and learning to photograph same. Kudos. OMT
