When I visited the Pantheon, I was struck by the fact that this amazingly-well-preserved relic has survived 2000 years with a hole in its roof. My dad and I were in Rome during a rare rainy spell, and we visited the Pantheon during a thunderstorm. Right in the middle of this ancient temple, a small waterfall was smacking onto the floor. No docents were scrambling for tarps, no preservation officials were fielding anxious questions from the press. It was just another day in another century for the Pantheon.
More than anything else, that brought home how beautifully engineered this marvel is.
[Edited to correct the misspelling of the last "Pantheon" as "Parthenon." My Nashville years are showing.]

Looks like a Volkswagen Beetle. Must be an original Beetle, to have been around back then. The hood/bonnet is up; it must be broken.
