    Clever photo.

    When I first saw the thumbnail, I thought it showed a couple of rings (as in jewelry, or something).

    So saying, I'd be tempted to crop in a bit tighter to make it even more abstract.

    But that's just my own bias, of course, because I tend to see abstracts in everything.

    This is quite good, I like it Ilse!

    This short DoF you chose makes the scissors appear just like two rings of metal... Actually four with the reflection. And the eye goes from one to the other, circling the circles...

    And then we are attracted to the blurry part and then the image vanishes!

    Lovely harmony of whites and greys, with the inner black rings putting some accent of strength in an overall delicate picture.
    I wonder where the diagonal lines on the left comes from: a difference in light? a shadow? but on the right side, it's gone.
