more of the beautiful passion fruit flower. It was blowing so photographing was precarious, the vines flapping around the flowers. I like the profile of this flower and the way it is partially hidden. And of course its dancer's tendrils. Believe it or not there is a KK texture on this but I don't think it can be seen. Happy Monday to you all. I have started the day tired

I think this is a kind of bromeliad. Grows in our garden at Port Alfred and its leaves look very much like bromeliad leaves. However if there is anyone out there who knows otherwise please do let me know. Have a very happy Saturday wherever you are. Hot hot hot here today. Cicadas singing in the trees, hadedahs shouting just above them and fans going in the house

Where the bee sucks

Where the bee sucks

Just sprang to mind. Passion flower from the week-end at Port Alfred. Covered in bees, this is not my best bee image but the best passion flower image. What a twirling and curling of tendrils. Isn't it an explosion of beauty? If you do listen to Elisabeth Schwarzkopf singing this think of this: when I first began teaching music we were expected to teach songs like this to our singing classes (ages 12 - 18) !!! What were they thinking? What was I thinking?!

"Where the Bee Sucks, There Suck I"
"Where the Bee Sucks, There Suck I"
By William Shakespeare 1564–1616 William Shakespeare
Where the bee sucks, there suck I:
In a cowslip’s bell I lie;
There I couch when owls do cry.
On the bat’s back I do fly
After summer merrily.
Merrily, merrily shall I live now
Under the blossom that hangs on the bough.

From The Tempest
