Aerial Photography
I was recently in New York City and I thought this to be the best way to capture the skyline.
For Strobist: Lighting on photographer(myself) & chair: to the right of the subject a large softbox(Profoto 600) to simulate overall brightness(flagged to prevent camera flare). A gridded light (Profoto 300) on the right between the softbox and camera for harsher light ray effect on knee and shirt. Back of subject (left) was a large fill card. Balloons and rope were lit with small softbox(300) no fill to provide adequate light drop-off. Building reflections added to balloons in post. View larger if necessary! Background(NYC) was photographed with natural light and sky added in post.
