Freedom Plaza, designed by Robert Venturi and George Patton, located on Pennsylvania Avenue, NW in Washington, D.C. Completed in 1980, it was originally named Western Plaza. In 1988, the plaza was renamed "Freedom" in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. King wrote his famous I Have A Dream speech while staying at the Willard Hotel. The hotel is located at the western end of the Plaza.
