Wrest Park - the pavilion

Wrest Park - the pavilion

One of the small upper chambers, reached by very narrow and tightly turning spiral stairs.

The pavilion stands at the end of the long water, closing the main axis of the gardens. It was designed by Thomas Archer and built in 1709-11. Its plan is a circle within a hexagon whose sides extend into alternately semicircular and rectangular bays. Outside the building is finished in two colours of brick and topped with a lead-covered dome.
