High Texture Hand Embroidery of the Moon For NASA/Etsy Space Craft Contest

This is my entry for the NASA/Etsy Space Craft Contest. It's a high texture hand embroidery of the moon. I didn't make it to the voting round, but you can read more about that and get some great space and embroidery resources over on my blog. Stitches used: chain stitch, stem stitch, satin stitch, split stitch, french knot, bullion knot, button hole wheel, button hole wheel cups, button hole, Portuguese stem stitch.

Threads used: stranded cotton embroidery floss, pearl cotton, rayon, silk,

Light beading.

Stitched on linen then mounted on a grey linen blend.
