Moon in progress
UPDATE!
Apparently there was some kind of glitch in the way Etsy pulled the
entries for the initial selection round. A new batch of semi-finalists

This is my entry for the NASA/Etsy Space Craft Contest. It's a high texture hand embroidery of the moon. I didn't make it to the voting round, but you can read more about that and get some great space and embroidery resources over on my blog. You can read more about the project on its Etsy listing page. :)
Stitches used: chain stitch, stem stitch, satin stitch, split stitch, french knot, bullion knot, button hole wheel, button hole wheel cups, button hole, Portuguese stem stitch.

Thanks, Joanie! The piece is actually already finished (whew!). These in-progress shots are from months ago. Just posting them now as a "look back" on the project. You can read about the completed project over here. :)

Joanie! It turns out there was a glitch in how Etsy pulled entries for review in the initial round of the contest, and now mine has been listed as a semi-finalist and is open for voting! You can read more about it on my blog, or just head straight to Etsy to vote (you'll need to be a registered Etsy user, but it just takes a minute). Spread the word if you like. :)
