The Calabazas branch of the San Jose Public Library system was closed in August of 2009 for renovations. The renovations consisted of tearing down the existing building and constructing a new building with roughly double the square footage. The building construction has finished, but the city does not have the funds to operate the library. At the same time, residents are complaining they do not like yellow color of the exterior and want money spent to repaint the building.
