full metal etch a sketch
My second etch a sketch drawing. This started out better than it ended. The first sketch ended better than it started out. The Etch A Sketch seems smaller than they used to be. They are probably the same size. I haven't used one of these for about 14 years. They would have looked bigger to a 10 year old me.

yeah, they definitely are smaller.
and that's certainly ONE way to slow down the drawing process to get more precise! :)

I think you have some real potential on the Etch and if that's your beginning work, I can only imagine what you're future work is going to be like.......... so STOP IT!!! I don't need any more competetion. Seriously, I'd like to see more of your work as you complete it. Feel free to drop me a line or jpg anytime at etcha@etcha.net.
Oh yeah, the Etch A Sketch IS smaller..... by about 1/2" of screen size vertically x 3/4" long ways. I found this out the hard way when I was in the middle of trying to do a multi-piece etch. I went to buy one and got it home and needless to say it screwed up my plans. I contacted Ohio Art and found out that they resized them, get this, because WalMart refused to sell their product unless they could deliver them at a lower price and the only way Ohio Art could do this was to shrink them a little, thus saving material, shipping size and costs, etc. To think that WalMart has to power to do this makes me sick. The Etch hadn't changed one bit since its birth in 1960. Shows you how much power WalMart has.

I totally dig it. The angle, the execution, the image. Magic Screen indeed.
