Rustic Cottage

This is one of many photos i took while at the amazingly popular and a SL Photographer's dream sim of EMBRYO's ::RUCOTT:: . This photo was taken in the fall of 2010 when the embryo sim builders group created their beautiful "fall" theme. As anyone that knows this sim will already know, the builders of this sim change it for almost every change of season. So if you dont take photos of their amazing work - you may never see it again except for in photos.

This AUTUMN build was amazing so I had to take photos of it BUT I never got around to actually post processing it until 8 months later. I was inspried to do so as I went thru my unfinished SL photos and this one again caught my eye again. I was going to use one of Pareeerica's awesome new textures but I ended up using two of her textrures that have proven to be so popular for me and useful.

Really there isnt much deep meaning behind this artwork other than the incredible peace and serenity that one gets as you stare into the photoart and imagine being in the deep back woods where a small old traditional 1900's farmhouse was built. the beauty of the autumn colors surrounding the old homestead and the contrasting beauty of the planted red and pink flowers placed there by the owner further adds to the tranquility of the scene. The textures used were to add to the historical age of the photo.

Oh my... I remember Embryo in Autumn, but I was so taken by the golden trees that I utterly ignored the cottage... thank you for showing us this face of the build. :) And yes, you're right in pointing out what an ephemeral world SL is - I've so often walked into the classic thought trap of "I'll come back next week for a photo", with the oh-so-well-known result... a changed sim, or worse, a sim gone forever.

Gorgeous! Looking forward to seeing it hung in your new gallery.

Wow... such a beautiful and stirring image! Autumn is my favorite time of year... with that last desperate rush of blooms in the garden, and the warm and intense waves of color that sweep over the fields and woodlands. It is as if nature is putting on one final bright and brilliant show, in preparation for the impending sleep of Winter. And old farmhouses... I could ramble on... (sigh). You've definitely captured the serene and winsome character of such a homestead.

:) Thanks everyone... I love your Fave's but being as verbose as you all have learned I can be, I love how you all take the time to talk about your thoughts on the art and your personal relation to the topic at hand. Its almost like we are all sitting down and having a coffee chat on Flickr and I get to learn more abouts y'all.

I have a large inventory of several SL photos that I have taken and not yet done anything with - if ever at all. BTW... if you have not yet gone to the current build at Rucott, click the LM link and take a look. Its awesome again - specially the farmhouse island in the middle of the sea. I already did a photo art on it a couple months ago.

      hugss and thanks again !!!
