I love the mood you created in this shot - there are a couple of small techincal points but not enough to detract from the overall feeling this image puts over.

I think the unusual composition works very well - the emphasis on the path and decay on the right presents us with an aspect of the Great Wall which is not often included in photos. For that reason the photo tells a story, not focussing on the immensity of the Wall like 99.9% of photos, but rather on the effect the elements (for example this sandstorm) have over time on even the most ambitious of human constructions. It's a great shot.

Yea, I've heard that comment before, but I do like it. no accounting for taste I guess :-)

I know the hike you had to take for this shot & I commend you for it. I haven't posted any of my GW shots - and looking at the quality of this - I probably never will . The composition is good on the left, but the right detracts the viewer even though the statement of it's condition is obvious. Good lighting and effects and the sand storm capture adds a definite layer.

I'm going to abstain cause I can't put my finger on whether I like or dislike...

I simply love the composition & colour - an instant fave.

I don't agree with the crop suggestion - but cannot vote this as a save - there is something missing in this composition - I am just not sure what.

bottom right is too incongruous to the whole picture. incongruous is sometimes good but not in this case. otherwise this would be good.

great as it is , no crop. wonderful colors and wonderful composition.

I love the color and the lines. The "dead space" the crop suggests removing somehow works for me, and I'm not sure why. The crumbling wall works for me too in making it feel closer and more real and not just a simple line perspective shot. I feel like there's an annoyng tilt, but that's not enough to make me want to delete it.
