    Wow, it's been a while since I uploaded anything in black and white...!

    The light beam coming from the front windows is natural, not a photoshop addition. =)

    This is the interior of St. Peter's, with the baldacchino (left) and the nave. The baldacchino is a pavilion-like structure 30 metres (98 ft) tall and claimed to be the largest piece of bronze in the world, which stands beneath the dome and above the altar. It was intended to mark in a monumental way the place of Saint Peter's tomb. It was commissioned by Pope Urban VIII. Works began in July 1623 and ended in 1633.
