      spiny indeed... these ones never let go! what made you pick these over, say, a mantis or stick bug?

      Haha! I should have known you would have had experience with these... You're right, they don't let go. I had one climbing all over me and couldn't get him off. But they were free from a girl who was moving, super cool!

      Can you buy bugs from the bug zoo??!!

      you can indeed! i know you can buy mantis', tarantulas and scorpions for sure. you may even be able to buy stick bugs. they were always my fave, them and the mantis'.

      where did your friend get these? these guys are crazy... every time you pry one leg off, they manage to stick you with another!

      You're not kidding! I needed Clay to help me get one off that was on a mission to keep crawling up me. Took a while to get it off even with 2 people. I don't think I'll be taking them out that often to play with ;)
      She got them from the entomology prof at Uvic (not sure where he got them from), turns out they have babies without mating, and he ended up with a bunch to give away, and now she's moving... and she gave them to me!
      I'd LOVE to have a stick insect! I agree that mantis' are also super-cool :)
      Do you know where they're from? Online it says only Australia, but I'm wondering if that's true.
