Wintery-darn-it-is-dark-so-early-and-I-think-I-get-a-cold-depression: Done!
So here we are again after some down-time. Still uber-busy with all kinds of stuff here and there, but at least I feel a little bit organised again, and slowly start to get my photographers mind back again. Planning to do some evenening photoshoots in Berlin soon, so give me a shout if you want to come along!
But first a little story:
Pro-bluffing my way into a restricted area, sometimes size does matter:
Sometimes it helps to have a bit of a bigger DSLR camera. Strap a wide-angle lens on it and it looks even bigger. That’s what I did when I went to this hot air balloon festival back in autumn. The field of which the balloons took off was restricted to the pilots and some press-photographers. But when I saw that the security wasn’t actually checking for press-cards I took my chance and swung my camera onto my shoulder, walked up to the security man and said “can I pass onto the field? I need some better shots for my work (why should he know my “work” has nothing to do with press?)”, The guy had a look at my camera and opened the gate for me, and a few seconds later I found myself between a dozen hot air balloons that were being prepared for take off.
Lesson learnt, sometimes size does matter!
I will have to do the hdr-editing again, as I am not very satisfied with the result on this one (see "ghosting" next to balloon)
