Just out of curiosity how long did the wine remain sealed? if i was being picky (which i am not), i would have got what appears to be finger prints wiped off the bottle on the right hand side. Great lighting though and first rate image!

Thanks for the comments guys, really appreciate it. Just so you know, it is still sealed.....it is my wifes bottle and I dont drink wine anyway.....too posh lol.
Finger prints! bugger I never noticed that!

Look very closely, they're not fingerprints. They're reflections of something in the background. Otherwise a great shot.

It would be good to hear exactly how this was lit - the glass is just perfect isn't it! Emphasises the shape and symmetry and adds depth to the whole scene. Top shot.

Thanks for your comments BDA, obviously I like hearing stuff like this!
To answer your question on the lighting, well, it was very simple, flat lighting. I positioned a light with softbox either side of the set with the lights higher then the objects pointed down at roughly 45 degrees to try to eliminate shadows. Shot at 1/125sec, f/8, ISO 100 - hope this helps!

Thanks! Think I'll have to go back to DIY and build a couple of softboxes :-)

I have to comment on this shot simply because Gallo is one of about 5 of my favourite wines. It's inexpensive, and like my other 5 favourites, competes well with wines twice the price. Oh! The shot isn't bad either...lol.
