Some cities like Bergen (Norway), Paris (France) and even Marrakech (Morocco) make it very easy to get lovely cityscapes. London (England) not so much. Every high vantage point is either an incredibly expensive, booked-out tourist trap or an incredibly expensive, booked-out restaurant.

I really wish London was more photographic friendly. Other places are proud of their cityscape and I feel that London should follow suit. In the meantime, you just have to be more resourceful. This photo is best viewed large (press L) to appreciate all the detail. Go on, give it a go.

I am at a conference today, so I shall not be on Flickr.

from you but your shots always suprise me.
this shot is so cool, i love the lights.
i would like to frame it and hang it up but unfortunately it's not a poster.

You are so right, and it is very difficult in London to take photos with tripod or from high up. People treat you like a terrorist when they see you getting your tripod out. How did you manage to get up this tower? Great point of view and lovely picture. Very unique here on flickr!
