Patio Doors Bubble (Soap Bubble)
I've just got home after a lovely week's holiday in Milford-On-Sea, Hampshire, UK. I went for quite a few walks along the coast and photographed terns flying and fishing. But one morning I stayed in, sat on a lounger and read (Milan Kundera, The Unbearable Lightness of Being). I noticed that the light coming through the patio door windows was very strong. So then I did my bubble thing! Hey presto!
I'm missing the holiday already. Photographing terns with my new 300mm f/2.8 lens was perfect. Very enjoyable. I was just thinking it's a pity I didn't take any shots of the house we stayed in. But I did, if you count this - which I do. I can even see the bottle of Mr Bubbles bubble mixture here!
(P.S. It's difficult to photograph bubbles indoors like this because there's relatively little light, even with bright patio doors. I had to make some sacrifices with ISO and aperture to get this shot. Have a look at the EXIF if you're interested - high iso and largish aperture.
I achieved the light/dark contrast here because the room behind is large and out of the sun. What little light there was in there just rattled around and then died away)
