Good time of year to be photographing bubbles now. The sun lights up my back garden beautifully. Last time I got one this clear was this time last year, and I had VR (vibration reduction) then. Didn't know if I could get one that good again, but this is very very close.
P.S. For anyone who hasn't seen my bubble photos before: this is a real photo of a soap bubble, NOT a Photoshop creation. There is some very slight editing of light, but it's just to take out some glare.
Up until now I've shared every element of my technique with people asking questions on how I do this. But when I was taking this shot, I came upon a realisation that is simple yet not immediately obvious. It's the first thing I won't be telling anyone about.
