It Begins

The first moments of a bubble popping. I love the matt kind of clarity to the reflections in this shot.

This photo is featured in Digital Camera Magazine, October 2009. This photo has also been featured in many newspaper and magazine articles, science exhibitions etc.

It competes for being my favourite photo.

seems like a fish eye view taken at arm's length. this concept can be experimented with other people or objects to get reflected by the bubble.

Really nice combo of reflections and pop. It really does look good big, so much detail. We're back a windy rut again, but when it calms I want to try this side view, another amazing shot!

Oh my, this is the creme de la creme of bubble shots! Please do share how you managed to achieve this, pretty please!

It's all about having a dark background and bright objects (e.g. houses) in the foreground. That provides light and reflections. It's also about having still air and just the right amount of sunlight. LOL - then there's the bit about focusing and timing. I keep saying it's easy, but it's lots of easy things all coming together at the same time, which is actually quite complicated.
