I have these Cokes to give to a friend for his 50th birthday. He loves all things Coca Cola and I'm going to do a few "portrait" shots for him to add to his collection. In the meantime, they are killing my kids! We don't have soda in the house very often ~ we just buy it for a specific meal or occasion, but otherwise no carbonated sugar is to be found. I am surprised they have lasted this long...

We call Coca Cola "soda" in this area, as do many neighbors to our East. But just to the West of us, less than an hour away, everyone calls it "pop," and this trend seems to reflect most of the rest of the nation, except in the South where folks call it "Coke," even when it is not a cola. Geez, if we can't agree on a common name for this fizzy drink, how do you think we can solve the big problems?

we called it pop where i grew up and considered those who said soda to be a little bit snooty. but i do say soda now. i remember being in a restaurant in oklahoma once and asking for a coke and the waitress asking what kind of coke. that's just weird.

Oh cultural differences! Canadians say pop and tend to think that Americans say soda. Now I know better!
