Bluer Hour with my Bro....

As most of you know I'm a new parent and for anyone that has, or has had, a newborn you know what an incredible challenge it can be. Late nights, early mornings, non-stop diaper changes, and constant crying. Let's just say that personal time is at a premium and photography is somewhere down at the bottom of the pile....

Don't get me wrong I love my daughter dearly and my wife too so when she gave the ok to take a day off I made the most of it and ventured to Manhattan with my brother.

The day turned out to be pretty much a wash for a landscape photographer like myself because the skies were grey and overcast. Oh well, no big deal, I still got to use my new tripod and I played with a rented Canon 8-15mm lens so the day was still enjoyable....

As we left the city, we decided to stop in Weehawken NJ where the views never disappoint. As the sunset behind us the sky turned to a deep blue and skyline lit up like a Christmas Tree. Can't wait to do it again!

(Stability provided by a Really Right Stuff BH40 and Gitzo GT2531 tripod - it's new!)

I can sympathise with the bad skies. Whenever I'm travelling, half the time I encounter completely grey skies with not even an iota of sunlight and there's only so much you can snap in Jax. Anyways awesome skyline, light and very silky water. Only thing perhaps it needs a bit of sharpening and straightening. I wanted to see the pic in Original size as I love looking @ details in skyline shots but that's disabled which is fine.

Anyways, it's a great skyline shot!
