This guy did not like being held-but then cardinals are not big fans of that

This is full face of a handsome lad

  2. makeupanid (62 months ago | reply)

Hiya monaco, I was putting a band (or ring or tag) on it-it's actually not me holding but my partner :D

  3. yeimaya (62 months ago | reply)

How many of these fellows do you see again? Any repeats during this tagging period?

Hey I'm an admin for that group too, lol, I meant to put it there.

Don't see that many cardinals which is a good thing they LOVE to bite ;D This was back in November but yesterday we were out and recaptured about 10 Black Capped Chickadees!

  6. yeimaya (62 months ago | reply)

hahaha silly woman... not doing your recruitment job, I had to do it for you.

any idea how old the chickadees were, how old were the bands? I am amazed how long they live... they burn so much energy I thought their fires would go out.

  7. makeupanid (62 months ago | reply)

most of the bands were by us, but TWO weren't-most of the birds were Second Year birds-oh yeah and one of the recaps was this one, from just last week!

I never tried grabbing one of my Cardinals...probably a wise idea...I'm not sure how you could ever even catch them...

He is NOT a happy camper! Your partner sure is skilled to be able to hold onto him and not end up with a bloody hand. I like his angry crest. Excellent shot!
