In touch with the news
I heard him before I saw him
Rhys
he told me his name later
was scavenging the bin
behind me
He was focused on the scraps
I was focused on the scraps of a newspaper
playing in the wind
I didn't notice his bare feet
until he landed one
smack in the middle of the front page
Rhys didn't bother to pick it up
he just took in the news
some fuss about the House of Lords
and moved on
His Happy Shopper plastic bag
made me smile
and I hoped he was
happy
as I watched him
move from bin to bin
