May you all enjoy the blessings of the season! Unfortunately, I'm still not able to "Flickr" more regularly but I do sneak in and check your awesome images once in a while (although I do it very quietly)

just surfacing one more time before i go on another Flickr break. i will try to make the round over the next few days but i would like to apologize in advance if you don't see me on your stream.

summer has come and gone
and i welcome autumn with open arms
it is a season replete with magic
the kind of magic that doesn't come with a bang
it comes in mellow whispers of the wind
it comes in deep shadows which dance in the sunlight
it comes in winged scarlet leaves gently falling on the ground
and they lie there oh so quietly
until i hear them rustle underneath my feet
as i tread my way into winter

for this one, i dug up a couple of images from my archives and combined them in Photoshop using "soft light" blending mode. i masked the leaf because i didn't want to lose too much of its red color, then i lowered its opacity. see the originals of these two images in my comment below.
