Once you jar it, amazingly enough, summer is RED!
Some colors of light still live in this preserve, and will accumulate
at the top of a jar. If opened in dull winter months, the light
disperses and fills the soul. The scent of fields, fruit and summer
rain envelopes the lucky one who unscrews the lid. Flavour of
preserved summer (though second best to he real thing) is still
superb, nectar like and a pure liquid love.
So, darn it, get canning! ;)

What glorious sunshine you have put away for winter, like the ant in the fable! Let me come visit you in February, when we are tired of the long nights and the winter gloom! I'll bring some fresh baked bread....
