Trees

    An entry for my moleskine. Sumi, technical pen, gesso, packing tape transparency and pearlescent watercolor.
    "Trees" by Joyce Kilmer is a favorite poem. We hiked through the Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest several years ago:

      This is beautiful. The fine lines of text echo the fine branches of the bare tree. Just lovely!

      this is a gorgeous piece. trees can be really difficult to bring to life, but this is so alive it's almost breathing!

      Thank you claireandacamera! There was a point in making this piece that I felt I had ruined it, but I added a layer of gesso and continued on....symbolic really. :-)
