Shanghai World Expo Cultural Center
I visited the 2010 Shanghai World Expo this past June with my family. This is probably one of my favorite buildings, both architecturally and for its amazing views of the Expo on the balcony. According to its wikipedia article, it will be renamed to the Mercedes Benz Arena in 2011 en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shanghai_Arena
Tip: If you want to get to the viewing platform without waiting in the long lines, you can skip the line if you have dinner in one of its restaurants upstairs. My parents, grandparents and I ended up in this cute little hotspot restaurant decorated like an igloo, and had a really good dinner before strolling around the platform. You can even see the music fountain performance from up there.
