This is a piece i just finished that I'm hoping to get into the gallery at my college for a student exhibit in April. Hopefully the judges will like it!

... Here's the story behind it:

Last semester I took a women's studies class which was based on a book titled The Feminine Mystique by Betty Friedan. It was about women's struggle to find their identity due to societal pressures to be housewives and mothers in the 50's and 60's. It was rare and looked down upon if a woman decided to go to college and get an education. The typical housewife had no idea what went on outside the home, nor did she care. All she was concerned about was keeping her husband happy and her house clean. Because she was so concerned about being the "best" and most efficient housewife she could be, she had no idea what her interests were; she had no time to find that out. If she ever went to college, it was to get a husband, not an education. However, the brave women who decided to put love aside and venture outside of the home to explore the world and its possibilities were the ones who got the eyes to see that there is more to life than just a pretty picket fence.

My cousins came to visit for Christmas! It was awesome getting to see them and spend time with them. It was long overdue.
We went to the Academy of Sciences in San Francisco, where this was taken.

I took Buster on his first hike this week. I had been meaning to for so long but I was too busy with school and work. He was so happy to run freely and chase birds through the fields.

I love my Buster Bear. :}

Unfortunately this is the only photo i managed to take this week while i was at work. It was finals week so it's been super hectic.

Luz made me this mini crepe, which i am now obsessed with. It has cream cheese, pesto, spinach, avocado and green onions. Picture all of that inside of this deliciously fluffy crepe. Mmmm. Amazing and super green!
