Measuring Attachment Force of Mussels

We drilled a whole in a mussel shell to attach the hook of a spring scale with which we measured the attachment force (Newton). We compared mussels from exposed (higher force needed to remove mussels) and non-exposed sites.

Common Dolphin

Common Dolphin

In the afternoon we noticed at least one group of dolphins and moved closer to them. They followed the boat for several times. About 50 or more individuals. If I'm not mistaken they are Short-beaked common dolphins (Delphinus delphis).
