Taken on our way up to the top of Pike's Peak. We rode the Pike's Peak Cog Railway instead of driving, as we weren't sure how the altitude (14,000+ feet!) would effect us. The view starts to get spectacular after you pass the tree line - you can see forever!

One of the problems of going away on vacation and the return is trying to decide just what pictures to post. The whole state of Colorado is a photograph, anywhere you look!

This was taken at the Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs. It was the end of the day so the sun was going down and the light was wonderful. And the batteries in both cameras were shot (we had been to Pike's Peak earlier and I took a lot there!). So out comes the phone, which takes a pretty decent shot.

Home from 9 days in Colorado, still on mountain time, wondering how in the world I will get up for work tomorrow! It was a good trip. Just when one thought it couldn't get prettier, it did right around the next curve!

This is somewhere over the middle of the country, though, taken with my phone. We had glorious, unseasonably warm weather, I'm happy to report :)

The ladies at Springbrook are soooo entertaining. They always make me smile :)

Sandra (gotsetters) and her hubby came to the farm for a visit and we spent the afternoon in the barns. Chickens! Pigs! Cows! Horses! Old wood and rust! So much to photograph!

And she had ice cream and chocolate milk and probably wants to come back tomorrow for more ;)
(It's that good.)

This cow and her calf are separate from the herd, to be pampered a bit before joining them. They had been sharing space with a bossier cow who hogged the food. She's crazy. Bolts when I enter the pen, just not socialized at all. Her calf (in the back there) is just as wild, but beautiful.
But she's coming around.
I went in to get her some grain (a treat to help her get stronger - these cows are grass-fed) and she came over to see what was taking so long with her food??? ;)

Didn't have my camera, but I did have my phone (the new smart, does everything except cooks phone, Jim!).

I'll try to catch up in the next few days - there's so much to do and most nights I crawl into bed exhausted (in a good way!).
