thought it´s about time to do another self portrait, most likely the last one without studio flash. but there was nice light this afternoon in my living room, so I simply took this opportunity.
the shot actually has been done before a white door - just as some few before - so the background is created with photoshop. if you´re interested how to to this, especially how to select hair from the background (one of the more challenging retouching jobs), read here Katrin Eismanns ultimate tutorial "Selecting Hair and Fine Detail in Photoshop" - there isn´t any better.
Katrin Eismann is an internationally respected teacher and lecturer on photographic imaging, restoration, retouching, and the impact of emerging technologies on photography and the arts. Katrin received an undergraduate degree in photographic illustration from the Rochester Institute of Technology and her Master of Fine Arts degree in design at the School of Visual Arts in New York City, and she is the author of several books.
